In this square-format composition, BEI Jiaxiang orchestrates a rhapsody of speed with brilliant orange-red and goose-yellow. The canvas is decisively segmented by the horizontally galloping herd of horses: above, fragmented riders in patches of color and the tranquil blue sky; below, rolling clouds of goose-yellow dust churned up by hooves—creating a remarkable equilibrium between motion and stillness.

Departing from the early Impressionist style, the artist here employs swift, sharp strokes. These rapid, decisive patches of color are juxtaposed and interwoven not to strictly delineate form, but precisely to capture and deconstruct movement itself. This technique evokes the Futurist celebration of the beauty of speed and their attempt to simultaneously represent the trajectory of motion on canvas.
